Welcome to episode 1 of The Dark Side of the Labyrinth, a more haunted
spin off of my Inside the Labyrinth blog and podcast. As some that works
not only in the music and entertainment world, but also the history
world, you can say that I am all about history and mythology! While I
cover much of that in my other blog and podcast, this one will explore
the spookier and more paranormal sides of history. As someone who has
served as a storyteller at a few haunted history events during the
Halloween season, I will say that I am very excited to embark on this.
This first episode was voted on entirely by YOU, from the 1840s dress
I'm wearing to the back drop I use, to the subject matter.
In this episode, I discuss the tragic story of Jennie Wade (Mary
Virginia Wade), whose life was cut short at the age of 20 by a stray
bullet during the battle of Gettysburg as she was kneading dough to bake
bread for the Union soldiers. She is said to be the only civilian
casualty in the battle.
There is also a romantic side to her story, and many in Gettysburg have
said that they have felt (and sometimes seen) her spirit!
So here it is, the first episode of The Dark Side of the Labyrinth. I
hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoyed making it. :)
